Prior to First Visit

First Visit - Initial Consultation

  • Upon arrival for your first visit, you will be greeted by one of our friendly staff. We will ask you to sign in at a computer located in the reception area. Any completed forms and information regarding insurance will then be collected
  • We will then provide you with a tour of our office and explain the various steps in diagnosis and treatment
  • Our treatment coordinator will then accompany you to our consult room. There she will take preliminary records and provide you with additional information about your visit. She will also discuss with you your primary orthodontic and dental concerns
  • At this point Dr. Sparks will join you and conduct a painless orthodontic examination and will take time to explain his findings, discuss your customized treatment plan, and provide you with an estimate of the treatment timing
  • After being certain that you fully understand our recommendations and the benefits of treatment, our treatment coordinator will discuss the administrative and financial aspect of care. We can then schedule you for a subsequent appointment to begin orthodontic treatment

Second Visit - Starting Treatment

  • After your consultation, we will schedule your first appointment to get started with braces or Invisalign
  • During this visit you will actually get your braces, Invisalign, or any other appliance that will help you get the smile you’ve always wanted. We will never fail to continue answering your questions during these and other follow-up visits
  • Never fear – from the minute we shake your hand to the minute your new smile is seen, Dr. Sparks and his team are committed to making sure that your orthodontic experience here is a fun, exciting and glittery success

Scheduling Appointments

Allowing the orthodontist to check your progress about every six to eight weeks is an important part of your orthodontic treatment. When you’re ready to schedule your first appointment, contact our practice, and our friendly scheduling coordinator will assist you. We want your appointments to be as convenient as possible, so when scheduling appointments, please let us know if there is a day and time that works best for you.

In order to most effectively schedule our patients we allocate specific times of the day for specific types of procedures. During the school year, we try to be as efficient as possible with the time for our patients after school. Therefore, long visits (greater than 30 minutes) are usually in the morning. This allows us to reserve after school hours for shorter appointments. To be fair to all school-aged patients, if you come in after school on one day, your next visit will likely be during the day, and vice versa.

Please allow the following time for each appointment type:
  • Initial Examination - 1 Hour 15 Minutes
  • Initial Bonding - 1 Hour
  • Adjustment Appointments - 30 Minutes

We understand that “stuff comes up” in life, so if you’re running late or need to reschedule, please let us know, and we will do everything we can to accommodate you.

Office Hours: Monday – Thursday: 8:00am to 4:30pm

Visiting the Dentist During Orthodontic Treatment

  • Continuing to visit your family dentist once every six months for routine cleanings and dental check-ups is vital, even during your orthodontic treatment
  • We will be happy to coordinate with your family dentist if your teeth are in need of extra dental care
  • We only want you to be comfortable and confident that your teeth can and will receive the best care possible
