Teen Orthodontics

At this stage of the game, you have enough to worry about: their grades, friends, hygiene, etc. So here, at Sparks Family Orthodontics, we want you to leave their smile to us. It’s an important part of who they are and how they are viewed. Many people often come in and have questions like: Does my son HAVE to have braces and if so, how long will they be on? Why should I even care about an overbite and what will happen if I don’t fix it? Can my son or daughter get Invisalign?

Mom, Dad… we get it and have you covered.

At Sparks Family Orthodontics we realize that every teen is different. When it’s time for braces, each teen will need to find the type of treatment that will get them the most functional, best-looking, most efficient result possible. Some will need braces and rubber-bands, while others will use Invisalign. Some teens may just need a retainer. At Sparks Family Orthodontics, we treat each teen uniquely and individually; there is no “one-size-fits-all” in Orthodontics.

At your first appointment you’ll meet the Sparks Family Orthodontic team who will walk you through each step of orthodontic treatment. We’ll take photos, appropriate X-rays, and measurements to help better explain to you and your Teen how braces can change their face, jaws and smile. We want your teen to have a comfortable and functional bite; all while developing an amazing and confident smile.

Dr. Sparks has spent 10 years volunteering with youth group programs, tutoring classes, and raising three beautiful children. He’s cool enough that you’ll feel like you can ask him any question you might have about orthodontic treatment but nerdy enough to know what he’s talking about. So whether your teen is a Hipster, Jock, Ninja, or a complete Non-Conformist, Sparks Family Orthodontics will get them through the experience in a fun, energetic and educational environment.

Teen Treatment Options:

Metal or Clear Ceramic Braces - Good ol’ classic brackets with wires, rubber-bands, etc.

Invisalign - Clear retainer-type appliance that is changed a few times a month to move teeth incrementally.

Laser Gum Surgery - These procedures are used to cosmetically improve the patient’s smile as well as the periodontal health of the individual. Dr. Sparks’ techniques have little to no post-operative sensitivity and often do not require needles for anesthesia.

TADs - Temporary anchorage devices, or TADs, are small titanium anchors used in certain orthodontic cases to help achieve quicker tooth movement with more efficiency and comfort. TADs have expanded the scope of orthodontics, allowing Dr. Sparks to achieve corrections previously accomplished only by surgical means.
